
We are seeking to appoint counsellors and cognitive behavioural therapists. These posts offer an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to join our Counselling and Health Advice Service.
You will be a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with experience of working with a diverse range of issues to support students to engage successfully with their studies and University life. You will have the ability to work flexibly online and in person, skills for brief/time-limited work, a good understanding of student support and risk management within an educational setting.
You will be based at a college site and have the option to work from home for part of your working week.
The vacancy is 0.8 (4 days a week).

Your profile
You will have a degree, a postgraduate counselling qualification, post qualification experience, and have professional accreditation with BACP, BABCP or equivalent.
Your experience will include:
- undertaking assessments
- managing casework
- working to brief/time limited contracts
- working with clients from diverse backgrounds
- a strong track record of responding proactively to crisis situations and of managing risk concerns
- interventions to alleviate difficulties affecting functioning and to promote mental well-being
- providing online as well as in person appointments
- understanding of the emotional psychological and mental health support needs of students
- experience of delivering psycho-educational workshops
- working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
You will have a good understanding of the needs of university students as well as flexible collaborative approach, excellent liaison skills and the ability to contain anxiety in yourself and others.
