The School of Health Sciences is dedicated to the education and development of health professionals and the performance of high-quality research. It is located in one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. The School offers students excellent academic tuition at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We offer pre-registration degrees in: Nursing, Midwifery, Radiography, Optometry, and Speech and Language therapy, while our suite of master’s programmes includes advanced courses in Nursing; Midwifery; Radiography; Optometry; Speech, Language and Communication; Health Management, Policy and research; and Food Policy.

Responsibilities

The role of the Clinical Skills Technician is to ensure that the School’s Clinical Skills Centre offers a high quality learning environment and that rooms are prepared to a high standard for a range of clinical and healthcare related skills.

As a Clinical Skills Technician you will be working within a team and will be responsible for ensuring the clinical skills rooms are set up and taken down appropriately for clinical skills sessions.

Working with the Clinical Skills Facilitator you will be expected to maintain efficient storage systems, resources, stock levels and clinical waste management for all clinical skills rooms.

Person Specification

The appointed candidate will have experience of working within the educational or independent care sectors or within the NHS. You will be a team-player with excellent communication skills and have 5 GSCE’s or equivalent including Maths and English. Previous experience in clinical skills teaching and simulation is desirable but we will offer training and support for anyone new to the sector.
