Background

The Clinic Support and Operations lead sits within the City Sight Clinic, which is part of the Department of Optometry and Visual Science. City Sight offers a wide range of eye care services to the general public, including clinics for Primary Care, Contact lenses, Dispending, Paediatrics and Binocular Vision. Eye care services during term time are carried out by final year Optometry students under supervision.

Responsibilities

The Clinic Support and Operations Lead will play an active role in managing the day-to-day operations of the City Sight Clinic to ensure a high standard of service for patients and teaching experience for our students. They will play a key role providing support to staff, students and customers and work alongside other members of the Department to support all Optometry programmes. They will ensure that the clinic is not in breach of the relevant professional bodies and guidelines.

Person Specification

The post holder will have extensive experience working as a registered optical professional within a private or public sector. They will have outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organisation and time management to be successful in this role. They will be confident in managing and leading a team with the ability to build effective working relationships on all levels, with both internal and external teams.

Subject to agreement, relevant Professional Services roles may be undertaken in a hybrid way. This involves a combination of working on campus and at home each week.
