
Applications are invited for the post of Category Manager in the Procurement Department.
The Central Procurement team have an exciting opportunity for a forward looking, commercially driven Category Manager to oversee the management of all non-pay expenditure for the College and to lead the development of sourcing strategies to deliver value-for-money and improved services for our patients.
You will be responsible for leading the development of procurement plans and strategies for key areas of non-pay expenditure and maximising the value for money obtained in the acquisition of goods and services through sustainable, efficient and effective practices including the management of risks and compliance with the Public Procurement Regulations.
As Category Manager you will be the dedicated point of contact for all procurement queries and to coordinate activities with other members of the team where appropriate.
You will have experience of project management techniques, developing category strategies and managing complex procurement projects including business cases, options appraisal, tender documentation, tender evaluation and contract award processes.
You will have strong communication skills and experience in building relationships at senior levels, as well as a good understanding of procurement best practice.

The College has adopted hybrid working for some roles and so some remote working would be possible for this role.
