In this role, you will deliver comprehensive career guidance services, encompassing one-on-one assistance, workshops, and presentations, catering to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as apprenticeship program participants. You’ll actively contribute to implementing our Careers strategy, ensuring that our current students and recent graduates’ access and engage with a top-tier career advice and guidance service.
This involves building and maintaining relationships with employers in various fields to enhance employability skills. Your impact will be pivotal in providing a world-class career advice service that accommodates our diverse student body, including international students, and supports outreach and participation initiatives. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external employers is essential. The role may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as travel to different BPP centres, with an Enhanced DBS check also necessary.
What you’ll be doing
As a Careers Consultant you will be required to create opportunities for mentoring, placements, and employer engagement events, as well as participating in career fairs.
Providing wide range of career guidance activities to all BPP students and learners. This included one-on-one support, workshops, and presentations, delivered through various mediums, including in-person, telephone, and online platforms.
The role entails maintaining expert knowledge of recruitment practices to provide students and early career graduates with up-to-date and insightful support. This support is geared toward helping them prepare for applications, interviews, and other selection methods effectively.

Candidate Criteria
- Proficient in understanding professional career opportunities and recruitment practices
- Knowledgeable about higher education, careers guidance services, apprenticeship settings, or early careers.
- Proficient in using technology for career guidance.
- Good customer service
- Effective team player with resilience, initiative, and the ability to handle pressure.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational, project management, and time management skills.
- Familiar with MS Office
- Student-centric
- Experienced in writing and delivering training sessions
- Relevant qualification
