About the role: The Senior Learning Designer provides overall guidance, best practice, coaching, reviewing and support for the teams of learning designers. The Senior Learning Designers (3 total) work together to ensure consistency across projects and ensure quality and timelines are met.
Reporting to the Manager- Learning Design (MLD), the Senior Learning Designer (SLD) is responsible for undertaking and leading curriculum, course design and development projects within Pearson Online Learning Services Australia (POLS) AU for Higher Education, Vocational Education and internal training.
Applying the Pearson processes and customer processes, the SLD will complete all tasks and activities to the standard required for assigned projects, including; researching & designing curriculum, researching and writing/scripting storyboards for both content and interactive activities, developing assessment strategies, creating or revising assessment tasks; preparing facilitator guides, providing expertise on aspects of curriculum or course design, coaching and mentoring on online or blended course design and providing feedback and coaching or mentoring to other team members. The SLD will employ industry best practices to assist in maintaining the integrity and currency of processes, templates, tools and documentation used in Digital Learning Services.

Skills & Experience :
Support the design and development educational resources across Higher education, Vocational Education and internal projects.
Liaise with client stakeholders on curriculum and learning design expertise.
Work collaboratively in a team of Learning Designers, eLearning /Multimedia Developers, Multimedia Designers, Multimedia Officers and quality assurance staff to produce quality educational solutions.
Manage small-medium projects, including conducting reviews and attending to internal sign-off requirements for deliverables.
Acting as a mentor and provide coaching, feedback and performance support to team members.
What you will ideally have:
Extensive experience in designing and developing online and/or blended learning in the post-compulsory education or corporate sectors.
Specific experience in designing authentic assessments and engaging online learning
Knowledge of andragogical learning principles and notable learning design philosophies, strategies and theories, and the ability to apply these
Extensive experience in designing authentic assessments and engaging online learning
Analytical, logic and problem–solving skills for analysing and identifying user needs, proposing solutions and logically organising complex information
Certificate IV TAE or extensive Vocational Education experience which includes assessment mapping and design
