Our Vision for Pricing Strategy & Analytics
Following the establishment of the Higher Ed International (HEI) sub-division in mid-2021, there is a need to align pricing governance across the markets. This assignment will work under the direction of the Director of Digital Channel Strategy, HEI to introduce standard pricing processes and policies across the markets. This role will work closely with the pricing, finance and product teams in the markets.
Founded on the premise that sound commercial decisions are informed by high quality and extensive analyses of data, the Channel Strategy team enables our commercial teams to optimize business processes, and leverage data to drive executive decision-making.
Sitting within the International Channel Strategy team, works collaboratively with a broad set of stakeholders (i.e. Finance, Product and data teams) to ensure our pricing strategy is aligned with our business outcomes and objectives.
Role Overview
The Pricing Analyst leads a wide range of initiatives focused on the objectives of pricing optimization for our Higher Education (HE) products across the international markets. These initiatives aim to increase monetization and simplifying business processes across the International Higher Education business. The role will require close collaboration with other HE functions including Product Management, Finance, Sales, Product Data, Channel Operations, and Technology.
This role reports into the Director of Digital Channel Strategy, HE International.
Key Responsibilities

Determine the pricing strategy for HEI products in conjunction with Product, Finance, Sales, and Operations stakeholders using data-driven internal and external insights

Lead all aspects of the HE Price Change processes including stakeholder communication, Product / Finance approvals, and updates to product data

Provide analytical, reporting, and presentation development support for key pricing decisions, performance / post-mortem analyses as needed

Work with each of the regions to simplify the HEI pricing structure to be easier for commercial teams to understand and buyers to transact.

Support markets with price strategy analysis, as needed. Work with regions to implement the new floor pricing, capture feedback and address regional concerns.

Capture a consolidated view of all regions’ strategies and segment the pricing analysis per format and per channel.

Monitor and analyze competitive price trends and analyze Pearson’s price points versus the competition

Monitor the HEI pricing governance that includes the global floor price and integration of policies for US Editions

Implement Special Pricing Request Policy & Governance along with HEI Finance stakeholders.

Outline overall vision and timeline for implementing pricing governance in the markets.

Support regions in conducting quantitative and qualitative pricing and marketing research analyses to support development of business models, revenue models, and go-to-market strategies for Library pricing and any new and existing products.

Work with the product and custom teams to assess the current custom pricing strategy and work towards creating a premium model.

Re-evaluate rebate terms as well as any legacy discounts and work towards more sustainable discounting terms.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject matter area

Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) or equivalent credential, a plus

Domain experience with Higher Education a plus
Other considerations:

This role will require intensive collaboration and work with US colleagues on US Est time zone.

The role is flexible to be work from home, however may require office presence at times or travelling occasionally. This will be in coordination with the Line manager.
