Our team: Virtual Learning – Pearson Online Learning Services Australia (POLS) partners with leading Australian Universities and assists them to acquire and retain students for online programs. This role sits within the Digital Marketing Team in the Pearson Online Learning Services division in Australia. Following a white label model, the Marketing team provide high-quality experiences through developing, planning, and executing student acquisition and retention strategies for the university programs we partner with universities to deliver.

The role: We are looking for a commercial and strategic thinker and experienced marketer. You will be reporting to the Head of Marketing and Acquisition and will be responsible for leading a team of digital marketers and product marketing.

Along with the team encompassing Digital Marketing Managers, Product Marketing Manager, Content Producer, Website Producer, cross functional teams and external agencies, you will be accountable to drive performance improvements for each of our university programs via enhancing Performance Media, SEO, Content Marketing, CRM, Email Marketing and student retention, understanding customer needs, and developing marketing strategies, ensuring sustainable long-term growth.

This role is partner facing and requires collaboration with internal and external teams and exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and people skills. This role would suit a strategic, confident, and inquisitive marketer with experience in turning insights into actionable opportunities, with a passion to operate in a highly competitive landscape.

What you will do:

  • Lead Marketing team with the creation and implementation of launch activities, including asset creation, campaign creation and implementation, and reporting setup.

  • Build strong relationships with the agencies ensuring campaigns/ key initiatives launch on time and are optimised well to achieve acquisition targets and avoid out of scope crippling costs.

  • Ensure KPIs are achieved. Drive performance optimisations across all platforms using data-based insights.

  • Lead development of the product marketing strategy and drive communication effectively across cross functional teams that are also responsible for executing the go to market activities required to bring it to life.

  • Accountable for continuous improvement to ensure competitiveness and long-term sustainable growth.

  • Lead and guide Digital Marketing Managers to build and maintain strong partner relationships.

  • Lead career development of the team, set goals that will develop our people and develop our business.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Significant experience within digital marketing, agency experience highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in developing product positioning and go to market strategies in B2C markets.

  • Proven strategic, analytical, and quantitative skills with an ability to develop insights and develop strategy.

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing and technology with the ability to debate and improve strategic approaches and execution opportunities.

  • Ability to be a team player and influence others to deliver their absolute best, helping upskill and develop the digital marketing managers knowledge and of all members of the University Partnership team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or equivalent.

  • Developed internal and external stakeholder management.
