DTU Entrepreneurship at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) offers a part-time position at the level of associate professor within the area of technology entrepreneurship and research commercialization policy. The position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and expand the centre’s research on policies and other factors that affect the speed and effectiveness with which technology and public sector research are translated into innovations that create value for industry and for society as a whole.

Responsibilities and qualifications
We seek ambitious candidates with a strong research focus as well as an ambition to deliver high-quality teaching and advice to policymakers and stakeholders within research and innovation policy.

Your primary tasks will include establishing and undertaking research activities within the recently formed Policy & Consultancy Group. This includes fundraising for and conducting research within the field of technology entrepreneurship and research commercialization policy with a view to establishing a strong research area focusing on institutional, regional, national and/or international level policies, practices and framework conditions that affect technology entrepreneurship and research commercialization.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate solid scientific knowledge and research experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Policies and initiatives aimed at promoting and supporting technology entrepreneurship and research commercialization
  • Public-private interaction on the diffusion, transfer and application of research to innovation in the private and/or public sectors

You will work closely with colleagues at DTU Entrepreneurship. You are also expected to seek out collaboration with academic and external stakeholders nationally and internationally. 

Additional tasks will include providing science-based advice to key stakeholders in the field and engaging in selected collaborations with stakeholders, why we value both theoretical and practical experience.

Your tasks will also include teaching and supervision of students. You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. You will be expected to teach both in existing, relevant courses and to develop new course material on topics around innovation and entrepreneurship policy.

DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
