About us

You will be a member of the Department of Language & Cognition, based in Chandler House in Bloomsbury. The Department is committed to excellence in both research and teaching in the domain of language sciences and psychology, with application to disorders of language and communication across the lifespan. The Department is interdisciplinary in its profile. It hosts two teaching programmes: BSc/MSci Psychology & Language Sciences and MSc Speech & Language Therapy (leading to a professional qualification in speech and language therapy), as well as to contributing to other programmes offered within the Division of Psychology & Language Sciences. About the role

The post holder will contribute to research and teaching in the area of typical and/or atypical language development from a psychological perspective within the Department of Language & Cognition. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals with experience in cognitive linguistics, educational/clinical trial design, and/or language development and disorders. The successful candidate will have a research profile appropriate to career stage, reflected in publications in leading international journals, evidence of impact or engagement beyond the university sector, and award of research funding.

In addition to research, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in a range of activities including lecturing, project supervision and personal tutorials. The successful candidate will also contribute to the administrative activities of the department.

The post is available from November 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

About you

The candidate must have a PhD in a relevant discipline and post-doctoral research experience. They must have experience in teaching and project supervision at Undergraduate and/or Masters level.
