
Are you passionate about online branding and digital marketing? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our growing MA Digital Media Management team.
We are looking for an associate lecturer to teach our Creative Digital Branding MA module, one of the core modules for our MA Digital Media Management programme. The Creative Digital Branding module is taught in Birkbeck’s Spring term, beginning in January 2024 for a total of 30 hours.
The module aims to give students practical analytical skills in digital branding as well as creative experience in interactive storytelling, content production and visual creation. The associate lecturer will plan and deliver lectures and workshops and organize guest lectures by industry professionals. The associate lecturer will set and mark student assignments, providing productive feedback for improvement.
Topics covered in the module include strategic messaging, branding and social media, marketing integration, and managing and evaluating campaigns. By the end of the module students will understand the different approaches to social media marketing processes and associated tools and techniques of creation and evaluation. They will be able to identify the purpose and forms of digital branded content, as well as understand and evaluate the different creative approaches to branding.
We are looking for an applicant with a PhD in digital marketing and branding, or equivalent industry work experience. Previous university-level teaching experience at BA or MA level would be desirable. As would experience module planning and marking.
Remuneration
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £74.22 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
