With a community of 18,000 students from over 140 countries and 2,000 staff, Kingston University, London offers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to equip its students with the skills and knowledge they will need in the 21st century’s demanding workplace. It aims to develop potential, transform lives, and improve the world around it.
The University reorganised its Faculty structure in August 2022 and has created a new Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment.
Following the appointment of the new Dean who joins on 1st September, we are now seeking to appoint the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching who will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, development and co-ordination of Faculty learning and teaching activity for taught courses, and oversight of the student experience and student support agendas. The Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching will support staff through a period of change as we transition to the new Faculty structure and ensure that we offer a contemporary and attractive course portfolio and deliver excellent student outcomes.
The successful candidate will bring relevant teaching and learning management experience, an established track record of research in teaching, learning and quality and a strong track record of academic achievement in a relevant discipline. They will be a Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow of the HEA and will bring experience of leading change and delivering excellence. A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is essential, as is an inclusive approach to leadership and an unwavering commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.
This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of the new Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment at a bold and forward-thinking university which has taken great strides forward in recent years, as evidenced by our top 50 placing in the 2022 Guardian University Guide.
