Part Time: 7.3 hours per week (20% FTE). These posts can be appointed as a 0.2 FTE or together as one 0.4 FTE.

The Prosthodontics Unit has a first-class national and international reputation for its patient care, teaching and research activities. The Unit provides high-level advice and treatment of an advanced nature in conservative dentistry and fixed and removable prosthodontics, including implantology for patients referred by general dental practitioners and other hospitals.

A central focus of the Unit is to provide high-quality patient care through the educational programme for postgraduates in Prosthodontics at Masters and Specialist levels as well as Specialist Registrars in Restorative Dentistry.

Our programmes attract trainees from across the world.

The main purpose of these posts is to support and assist in the development of education and research activities relevant to Prosthodontics, and to play an integral role in the delivery of care to patients. The post-holder should have the ability and experience to inspire and direct clinical care, education and research at an advanced level. The programmes are run on a full and part-time basis and this post holder will cover clinical supervisory duties on a specific day of the week.

The post-holder is expected to contribute to the delivery of postgraduate education, including clinical supervision and didactic teaching of postgraduate students enrolled in our Programmes. The post-holder will also be expected to be able to supervise research to an internationally excellent standard including MSc dissertations/research projects. Through effective and high quality teaching the post-holder will inspire students, enabling students to develop the required skills and knowledge within their field of study. The post-holder will be expected to comply with the Trust and University regulations in line with patient care and clinical research and will be expected to adhere to the governance requirements such that quality standards are met. The post-holder will also be expected to work closely with the Clinical Lead of the Department to ensure that all patient-related protocols and guidelines relating to patient care are achieved and maintained.

The postholder must have a Masters (or equivalent) qualification in Prosthodontics. They must have experience of delivering postgraduate teaching in Prosthodontics and must be registered with the General Dental Council or be eligible to register. Disclosure and Barring Service assessment.
