The Role
Northeastern University London wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor (Teaching & Scholarship) in Algorithms. The appointee will primarily teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in algorithms and mathematics of computer science.
We wish to appoint a specialist in algorithms, and mathematics for data science and machine learning. Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of the aforementioned areas to one or more of the following: use of software and technology; employment contexts; diversity and inclusion.
Core duties will include development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Computer Science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. Algorithms and Data, Foundations of Data Science); and professional service commensurate to career stage.

Department
Computing, Mathematics, Engineering, and Natural Sciences is undergoing a major growth at Northeastern University London. It is home to four interdisciplinary undergraduate dual degree (in UK and US) programs in the areas of Data Science, Data Science and Politics, Computer Science and Business, and Computer Science and Philosophy; and four postgraduate programs in the areas of AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Digital Leadership.
The department is a major part of Northeastern University’s first-year student mobility program, offering undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Healthcare, striving to inspire and equip entering students to be outstanding scientists.

Qualifications
- PhD completed, or near completion (all but dissertation), or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area (essential)
- FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (desirable)
- A teaching qualification (FHEA or equivalent).
