HRUC (Harrow Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges) is a newly merged College Group, bringing together Richmond Upon Thames College and HCUC (2017 merger of Harrow College and Uxbridge College) in January 2023.
As a newly merged large further education college group, we are a hugely ambitious organisation with very high expectations. Based in the London boroughs of Harrow, Hillingdon and Richmond upon Thames, we have five campuses at Harrow on the Hill, Harrow Weald, Hayes, Uxbridge and Richmond upon Thames
The then HCUC is noted as a highly successful FE College in West London, presenting the highest 16-18 Achievement in London over four years, with 14 of 14 Subject sector areas above national average – noted by Ofsted as providing Outstanding Quality of Education. Now newly merged as HRUC, the role of Assistant Director – Academic Ambition and Compliance will support our shared ambition to deliver outstanding Teaching, Learning & Assessment, provide an exams ready approach, ensure Awarding body readiness, support staff CPD and further strengthen a group wide student tracking system. The role will lead on embedding future approaches to a digital classroom including VR & AR as expected practice.
Reporting to the Vice Principal – Academic Ambition and Delivery, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to HRUC’s curriculum and quality approaches, further develop and implement strategies for raising standards to maximise student achievement, and impact on learner outcomes. Working with key staff across HRUC, you will drive and inspire improvements in teaching and learning, ensuring quality procedures are both rigorous, completed uniformly and monitor their impact on HRUC’s expectation of being outstanding.
HRUC Assistant Principals, Heads of School and Managers are motivated, aspirational and running at pace, and the successful applicant will be able to meet these standards. You will be an outstanding leader who can motivate and influence others to achieve excellent results. You will have the ability and experience to implement strategies to raise standards of teaching and learning across a large volume and complex provision. You will have a sound understanding of quality management processes, post-16 inspection requirements and awareness of future developments including curriculum reform within the FE sector.
