
Job summary
The College admissions service within the newly formulated Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (MRA) function is seeking an Admissions Manger to lead one of the division’s faculty facing admissions team.
We are seeking an individual with an expert knowledge of admissions functions both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
You will have experience of working in a deadline-driven environment, with the ability to manage their and a team’s workload effectively and efficiently. The post holder will have the ability to cope with competing demands and priorities and to manage business processes and stakeholders at various levels of seniority appropriately.
The Admissions Manager will also be required to have an expert knowledge of internal and external policy requirements and regulations, in order to ensure that admissions records are assessed and progressed correctly.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be an effective leader with the abilities and competencies to support and develop a team, ensuring appropriate training and professional development.
You will have the ability to build and foster positive working relationships within and across the Faculty that your service supports, as well as externally, developing an expert understanding of College’s operational and business processes.
You will support the effective delivery of the admissions processes in line with key internal and external deadlines, ensuring that the Faculty team operate in a planned and managed way, to ensure service delivery in line with key internal and external stakeholder/customer expectations.
You will be required to develop an expert knowledge of admissions policies and compliance requirements and to ensure that the Faculty team’s admissions processing is in line and upholds these requirements.
Essential requirements
- Experience of working in a Higher Education admissions environment including UCAS.
- Experience of using databases, progressing records in line with policy and possessing and understanding an appreciation for the sensitivity and confidentiality of records.
- Experience of managing and leading a team in an administrative function, including the professional development, leadership and training of a team/staff.
- Experience of managing business processes in a deadline-driven environment and ensuring effective delivery in the context of competing deadlines.
- Experience of managing a team in a service-delivery capacity and ensuring that those business functions deliver an excellent customer-focused service.
