
We are recruiting on behalf of Cylch Meithrin Llanfechell who are looking to recruit an Additional Needs Support Worker (Temporary) to join the team.
Job description;
Work with the Cylch Leader to:
- offer appropriate support and encouragement to ensure that a child with additional needs has the same opportunities as his peers to enjoy and benefit from the Cylch’s activities
- ensure that a child with additional needs is included fully in all aspects of the Cylch’s work, adapting the resources and the activities as necessary
- collaborate with the Leader and the parents to formulate an Individual Education Plan/Individual Play Plan for a child with additional needs in the Cylch
- receive advice and guidance from the Referral Scheme Co-ordinator and specialists which are involved with the child, to ensure that the service on offer in the Cylch is suitable to the child’s specific needs
- help the Leader to keep a detailed record of the child’s development
- be able talk to the children in Welsh
Qualifications;
It is desirable that an Additional Needs Support Worker should have (or be working towards) recognised early years’ experience and qualification in childcare at Level 2 at least, for example
- A CACHE certificate in Early Years Child Care and Education (Welsh medium)
- NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Child Care and Education / Children’s Care, Learning and Development
- A Level 2 Certificate in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
- Another relevant qualification

Essential;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to communicate orally effectively in Welsh and English
- The ability to communicate in writing effectively in Welsh and English
- Experience of working with adults and children in a sensitive, positive manner, without prejudice
- Experience of planning and working as part of a team
- Experience of working in partnership with parents / guardians to support children’s development
Desirable;
- Experience of working within the Foundation Phase Framework
Experience of contributing towards planning activities, suitable for children with additional needsExperience of supporting a child with additional needs within early years’ provision Experience of working with other relevant agencies for children’s welfare

Hours: Monday – Thursday (morning, 9-11.30)
